Zamia Trail Bold Park

5.1km Loop Walk | Dogs Allowed On A Leash

The Zamia Trail, located within Bold Park is a 5.1km on the lead loop trail through natural bushland and features amazing views of both the city and the ocean along the way.

Access to the Zamia Trail is via The Reabold Hill  carpark on Scenic Drive, just off Oceanic Drive. You can't  miss the turn off just look for the large Reabold Hill limestone sign.

Reabold Hill is also a nice walk, it's fairly short (>500m) and takes you up to a beautiful viewing platform where you will see the most amazing views of the city and ocean. However it is raised metal grid mesh most the way along so our little dog wasn't too keen to walk on this with his little paws, however larger dogs may be ok.

The Zamia Trail is mostly compacted limestone, with some big hills along the way and there are several other walk trails that run off the Zamia Trail. All the trails are well signposted, however it's best to print off a map before you go if you want to explore a few of the trails. Find the Bold Park Trails Map here.

You don't need to complete the whole 5.1km to enjoy this trail. From the Reabold Hill carpark approximately 500m along the track is a short trail off the main track to an Ocean Views Lookout. The views here are simply spectacular.  180 degree views of the ocean and a couple of park benches so you can sit for a while and soak it all in. I imagine this would be an amazing spot to watch the sunset.

If you are looking for a long or short on the lead nature walk with your dog you will love the Zamia Trail. It's easily accessible from Oceanic Drive, and you'll love seeing Perth from this perspective.

Please keep the Reabold Hill car park hours in mind. 1st April - 31st October, 5.30am - 7pm and 1st November - 31st March, 5.30am - 8pm. Also check the website (link below) before you come to check if there are any trail closures.
