Dog Exercise Area | Swan River Access | Fenced Kids Playground
Tom's Reserve is an elevated dog exercise area that overlooks the Swan River. There is also access from the dog exercise area to the Swan River that is also a designated dog exercise area.
You can exercise your dog off the lead here (except when sporting events and activities are in progress). If sporting events are in progress you can wander down a little to Wauhop Park this is not a sporting oval and is designated as a dog exercise area also.
Just across from the carpark is the access to the Swan River. The steps are quite steep so a moderate level of fitness is required to up and down the access path. If you glance to your right before you head down the stairs you can see Bicton Baths.
At the bottom of the steps there is access to the Swan River. It's a little rocky but you can walk along this area with your dog (is designated as a dog exercise area - see map below) and if your dog loves to explore they will love splashing in the water and exploring the rocks and bushland here.
Above are the East Fremantle Dog Exercise Areas - Tom's Reserve is located in the hashed area alongside the Swan River where you can also see a Dog Exercise Area along the river.
Make sure you save some energy for the big climb back up the stairs.
If you have kids there is a fully fenced playground here, but of course don't allow your dog within the fenced playground area.
Tom's Reserve is a great place to enjoy an off the lead play and a splash by the river. Due to the access and the rocky foreshore it's fairly quiet so it's a good one if you are looking for somewhere without too many dogs to exercise your dog. Don't forget if there is any sport on you can wander down to Wauhop Park which is adjacent to Tom's Park.
