The LIttle Banksia Cafe Kensington is a quaint little cafe just across from Kensington Primary School and they love having furry visitors pop by or dine in when the sun is shining. You can walk from off the lead Morris Mundy Reserve (just around the corner) or park across the road in parking bays near the primary school.
We loved the dog parking bay right at the front door, so you can safely tie up your dog and keep a close eye on them while you place your order. This was so handy as we often struggle with this when Arrow and I head out solo. As you can see from the picture above he wasn't all too happy about it, but at least he could see me and I could see him and it wasn't for long.
Arrow and I enjoyed the sunshine and dined in the dog friendly courtyard to the side of The Little Banksia. This has been done up beautifully with artificial lawn, umbrellas and lots of tables (the tables seat about 6 people so you can easily meet with a few friends here). Arrow loved sniffing the succulents in this beautiful vertical garden. There is also a couple of small tables out the front of the cafe - so it's a good one for dining with your dog on a nice sunny day. If you are without dog there is plenty of cosy indoor dining as well - don't let the shop front deceive you there is lots of seating inside.
We were just visiting for a juice fix after a walk at the off the lead park around the corner at Morris Mundy Reserve, but from the looks of the food coming out and the reviews online, the food here is amazing. They have an amazing variety of food from raw treats, juices and smoothies, muffins and all day breakfast and lunch options.
And if you just want to grab a coffee or juice to go, use the dog parking and wait for your coffee on the wooden bench at the front and enjoy the northerly sun until your order arrives.
We love The Little Banksia Cafe, the service is warm and dog friendly, the atmopshere is relaxed, the food is amazing and the courtyard area is perfect for dog friendly dining on a sunny day. Just note parking may be limited at school drop off time during the week.
