The Hairy Marron Margaret River is the perfect cafe for fur families wanting to head out for a light meal or a coffee with both indoor and outdoor dining, including a outdoor deck, where dogs are welcome to dine too, that overlooks the beautiful Margaret River. There's one main word for The Hairy Marron - LOCATION! You can't get more Margaret River than dining over the town's name sake and that's what makes The Hairy Marron unique.
It was pretty wet on the day we visited, and as you can see there was a lovely fog over the river, and we unfortunately didn't have our dog with us as we were heading somewhere he wasn't allowed to come, so we dined inside, but there are covered dining areas outside and of course its sunny eating out on the deck would be the most desired dining spot. We hope for better weather next time so we can dine out on the deck overlooking the Margaret River.
The kids enjoying a croissant each, and I had the most scrumptious white chocolate and blueberry muffin. The coffee was beautiful too. We loved the vibe of this place, it has a fun, casual atmosphere and the staff are super friendly.
The menu consists of light meals like wraps, paninis, croissants and muffins, there are also a few raw treats to choose from like Raw Bliss Balls and they are open for breakfast, lunch, a light meal or a coffee or tea daily.
There is also plenty of beautiful forest to walk amongst before or after dining - if walk from The Hairy Marron towards the bridge and instead of turning left towards the playground your keep going straight there is a beautiful walk trail along the river - this is the Margaret River Heritage Trail - River Walk. Walk about 10mins and you'll come across a boardwalk that extends out onto the river and it has a beautiful wooden love heart shaped seat and viewing platform. It's approx a 40-60 min round walk, we highly recommend it.
If you are looking for a long walk or even a ride, from Rotary Park across the bridge you can also join the Ten Mile Brook Walk or Cycle Trail - it's an 7.3kms each way and you can hire adult bikes (including a tandem bike) from The Hairy Marron or bring your own.
Alongside The Hairy Marron is also the Old Settlement too which is nice for a stroll too
If you are looking for a true Margaret River dining experience, we highly recommend The Hairy Marron, located on Bussell Hwy just as you enter the Margaret River town, and of course located on the banks of the Margaret River. We are sure you and your dog will absolutely love it too.
