Swan River

Not all areas of the Swan River are accessible to dogs, many of which are not off the lead areas. Here are some nice places to take your dog along the Swan River, many of which are allocated off the lead dog exercise areas - and great for letting your dog have a run around and a splash on a warm sunny day. 

Mrs Herberts Park Claremont

A hidden gem, park alongside the Freshwater Museum Claremont, walk down through the play area and not far from the playground is a nice stretch of Swan River foreshore allocated as a off the lead dog exercise area.


Minim Cove Mosman Park

North Fremantle Foreshore

Nice quiet spot for a walk and splash in the Swan River. Walk towards the south and enjoy a walk under the Stirling Hwy Bridge.

Banks Reserve Mount Lawley

Beautiful off the lead park with small sandy beach area right in front of the park for a splash in the Swan River.

Bayswater Riverside Gardens

Have a splash at this beautiful beach along the Swan River after an run around at the huge Bayswater Riverside Gardens

Tom's Reserve East Fremantle

Quiet spot to walk and explore amongst the water and rocks along the river with dog exercise park nearby.

Foreshore 3 via Sunset Heritage Precinct

Park at the Sunset Heritage Precinct carpark and wander through the grounds (on the lead) down the walk trail to the dog exercise beach (off the lead).

Freshwater Point Peppermint Grove

Wander a few hundred meters down from Freshwaters Cafe to the dog exercise area where your dog can walk along the river and splash off the lead.

Bishop Road Reserve Dalkeith

Enjoy a walk along the river no matter what the weather with shelter right on the beach

Point Walter Dog Beach Attadale

Beautiful dog beach with city views, shady foreshore and dog themed sculptures.
