The Edgar Griffiths Dog Park Wanneroo is a big fenced dog exercise area with two sections for small and all dogs, agility equipment and excellent natural shade. It's located a short drive from the Wanneroo Central Shopping Centre.
The natural bushland has been well maintained within each of the sections with in the Edgar Griffiths Dog Park, with lots of existing trees left in place that provide excellent natural shade right across the dog park areas. The whole park has a very natural feel about it with the trees, wooden logs, rocks and wood chips contrasting the grassed areas and agility equipment.
In comparison to the other fenced dog exercise parks in Perth, this one is on the larger side, with a large L-shaped all dogs section that is set out around the sizeable small dog section with fencing in between.
Entries to both the small dogs and all dog section are double gated and there is a second double gated entry at the back of the small dogs section. Doggy bags are available at the main entries.
Both sections are very similar in features. Both are double gated, have agility equipment, picnic shelter, seating, water fountain, sand pit, natural play elements and grassed areas. The all dogs area is just quite a bit larger.
Across from the fenced dog exercise area is an off the lead open space. Here you can also find a building with a unisex toilet and water fountain with dog bowl. A kids playground is also located on the far side of the open space.
If you fancy a short off the lead nature walk, there is a ~1km round walk around the Edgar Griffiths Conservation Reserve you may enjoy. Entry is the the reserve is on the far side of the sports oval.
If you fancy a coffee and something to eat afterwards, you can drive back towards the Wanneroo Central Shopping Centre and visit Cafe Elixr. They have also have a Pamper Your Pooch menu so you dog can enjoy something to eat and get their fix with a puppacino too.
Whether it's just an off the lead fenced play, some open space off the lead exercise or an off the lead nature walk, this spot has it all at the Edgar Griffiths Park in Wanneroo.
