Off The Lead * Walk Trails 2.5 & 3km * Toilets * Picnic Tables * Best in Winter / Spring
Bells Rapids Brigadoon is a popular off the lead dog walking area, and is only 10mins drive from the Great Northern Hwy where it runs through the Swan Valley.
On this occassion we visited in April and there was very little flow, but this was perfect for Arrow and the kids to have a wade in the water and climb over the rocks.
We managed to make our way across the rocks to the other side and enjoyed a short walk along the bank on the other side before crossing back over to where we had parked. We recommend you bring a towel along as you can almost guarantee your dog will jump in for a quick dip. During winter in particular be wary there can be strong water flows through this area.
There are two designated walk trails, the River Walk (2.5km) and the Goat Walk (3km - medium fitness level recommended) which combined are 5.5km and start at and return you to the carpark area. Find out more about the Bells Rapids Walk Trail at www.swan.wa.gov.au. You can also find picnic tables and toilets near the parking area, so this makes a nice place just to stop to enjoy a packed lunch also.
If you are in the Swan Valley and looking for somewhere for you and your dog to stretch your legs and enjoy some off the lead time, or you are looking for an off the lead bush walk without having to drive too far out of the city, then check out Bells Rapids.
