Dog Friendly Cafe * Breakfast / Lunch * Water Bowl * Outdoor Dining * Open Daily * River Views * On The Lead River Walk
Bayside Kitchen Matilda Bay (formerly Matilda Bay Tea Rooms) is a lovely spot along the Swan River to dine with your dog. You'll need to sit in the outside dining area, but this has a lovely view over the river towards Perth city.
Bayside Kitchen is open daily for breakfast and lunch, it's beautifully located right along the Swan River, Matilda Bay foreshore opposite UWA. It's right near the pontoons which is a popular swimming spot for families - however it is a dogs on the lead area.
Just note it is strictly breakfast only menu until 11am, so if you want to order chips and burgers etc, you are best to dine after this time. We enjoyed a lovely morning tea of muffins and sausage rolls, with our great Nan. You can see her below giving our Arrow some much appreciated attention. There is a little wall right up against the tables so it's perfect for your dog to sit on, so he can be up checking out all the action as people wander by rather than be under the table.
They also do a range of delicous raw juices. I was expecting it to be a fresh juice in a glass, so just note they do come in a bottle, but poured over a glass of ice it was delicious none the less.
Of course you can enjoy dining at Bayside Kitchen before or after a long (on the lead) walk along the Matilda Bay Crawley Foreshore. The foreshore foot path runs in front of the Bayside Kitchen and extends up to the yacht club and the other way towards Mounts Bay Road, and makes for a beautiful riverside walk. There is an off the lead section a short walk from Bayside Kitchen at JH Abrahams Reserve Crawley.
Prices are not overly expensive but on the higher end of the scale for cafe dining - but the view makes it worth it. If you are dining without your dog there is also indoor and alfresco dining.
If you are looking for a dog friendly cafe to enjoy dining with a Swan River view, we highly recommend Bayside Kitchen Matilda Bay. It's also the perfect coffee and walk combo if you team it up with a stroll along the Matilda Bay foreshore.
